We would like to welcome all of our new families and swimmers to the Hemet Valley Dolphins Swim Team!! We lots of fun and excitement coming up!!! The first thing on our agenda is the move from the Hemet High School swimming pool to the New West Valley High School Swimming Pool. We will be moving over there on Monday, April 14, 2008 and practice will start at 5:15pm. Our White group will also begin starting at 5:30pm for the first session and the second session will begin at 6:15pm. Please remember your child will need to have his/her own equipment at this pool. We do not have any storage over there. If you need equipment we will be having a vendor on deck in the next few weeks for you to purchase anything from suits to fins. If you are unsure what your child needs, please see his/her coach and they will give you a list. Some other things on the agenda are: Skate Night (date and time to be announced), Team Pictures (date and time to be announced), Our Swim-A-Thon will be June 2nd and will be held in leiu of practice at West Valley High, swimmers will get pledges then swim for an hour, we will have lots of prizes and will have dinner after. We also have a home swim meet coming up on May 3rd and May 4th. We need all of our swimmers there!!!!! This is a team meet. Parents we cannot run a meet without you. It takes lots of volunteers to efficiently run a swim meet. There is a sign-up board on the pool deck, please sign up for a job. We are also asking for donations to the snack bar. There is a list on deck of things we will need. Please sign-up to bring something. Thanks!!!!! The warmer weather is definately approaching! Please be sure your child has sunscreen on. Also, be sure your child brings some water or gaterade to practice. Yes, swimmers can become dehydrated!!! We know many of you are new and may have questions or concerns. Please do not hesitate to contact a board member (numbers are on the web under contacts) or seek out a board member or coach on the pool deck. Also, if you have not registered online here at our website, please go onto newsletter and create a logon with your email address. You will recieve emails regarding important dates and last minute changes. Thank You and see everyone on the deck! Happy Swimming!!!

We hope everyone is having a wonderful break for the holiday. Swimming resumes at Hemet High on Monday January 7, 2008. Coaches want all their swimmers there ready to work hard. With the start of the new year Hemet Valley Dolphins will continue to strive to provide an excellent swimming program for our community. We look forward to some new changes and perhaps another move to a newer pool late this spring. We want to encourage our swimmers to stay in the water through the winter - come on the water is heated!!! It is the parents on deck and coaches who shiver. Long Course season starts March 1, 2008 this year and we hope that all of our swimmers will participate. HVDA will be hosting two meets this year, the first being May 3rd and 4th and the second being, August 16th and 17th. We are always excited to host meets as this is our largest fundraiser. It is still not known if HVDA will be able to host our learn to swim program this year. We are having trouble locking down a facility. We will however continue to try to find a way. We encourage parents to come on deck at least once a week to obtain any information regarding swim meets or any other HVDA events. Also, continue to check the website for updates and if you have not already registered on the website under Newsletters, please do so. You will receive emails about upcoming events. We look forward to seeing everyone on deck. Happy New Year!!!!
